Supercars 2025 Update – Dunlop

n

As the 2025 Supercars season heads into its final races, the spotlight on tyre performance has never been brighter. For everyday drivers in New Zealand, that means more than just following the action, it means appreciating that when Dunlop talks about innovation in tyres, they’re talking about what’s happening at the highest level of motorsport.

If you’re in the market for new tyres, consider that you’re choosing the same brand that supports strategy, speed and durability on the Supercars grid. The lessons from race‑weekend compound choices and pit‑stop strategies all point back to one thing… great tyres make a difference.

Mid‐season may be done, but there’s still plenty happening in the 2025 Supercars calendar, and the tyre story is as relevant as ever. Here’s a breakdown of the key recent highlights and what to look forward to, followed by how it all ties back to your favourite tyre brand… Dunlop tyres NZ.

Upcoming Races:

Penrite Oil Sandown 500 (14‑16 November 2025) – This is one of the closing rounds of the season and carries heightened importance in the “Finals Series” context.

BP Adelaide Grand Final (27‑30 November 2025) – The ultimate decider, where the championship will be nailed down. Precision, strategy and tyre‑management will be absolutely vital.

Other Information:
  • Dunlop remains the exclusive control tyre supplier for the 2025 Supercars Championship, meaning every car on the grid uses Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres in the key dry and wet specifications.

  • A significant engineering update: for 2025, Dunlop introduced a brand‑new Soft tyre construction alongside the carry‑over Super Soft. The old “Hard” compound has been phased out.

  • The race weekend formats have also evolved – more races, more kilometres, new “Super 440” style events (two sprints + one longer race) and a tighter “Finals Series” structure that elevates the stakes.
